Special event this Sunday in Tulsa!

This Sunday at the Tulsa Midtown Chess Club, NM Mark Hulsey will give a talk about the spectacular King’s Gambit games of America’s chess heroes:  Morphy, Pillsbury, and Fischer. He’ll show some games and have stories about these greats, who were the best in the world in their times. The club meets at the Harvard Avenue Baptist Church. Doors open at 1:30 and the talk will begin by 2 p.m.

If you aren’t familiar with Morphy, the video (below) by Nakamura may whet your appetite for more. Questions? tom.braunlich@cox.net

In this issue:  Read all about this year's exciting Rozsa tournament, learn the story (what we know of it) of Oklahoma's most talented and mysterious player, whose stellar chess career was interrupted by a heroic tour of duty in World War II. Plus puzzles, book reviews, and games from Oklahoma players like Max Barnes, Ryan Amburgy, David Luscomb, Tom Braunlich, David Zelnick, and Albert Roddy
