OU HSC Tournament of Classic Chess

By Steve Orwig, OU Health Science Center

Antonio Reis, M.D. recently organized a Health Science Center Chess Club, and one of the activities he set up was a round robin tournament with long time controls (40/2h; G/1h).  Since these games could theoretically last up to 6 hours, we had trouble finding a time when everyone could get together to play.  I suggested an approach that I have seen in previous clubs: each pair of players would be responsible for arranging their own time and place to play their two games.  It's still early, but so far, it seems to be working.
