OKC Winter Open

The 2004 OKC Winter Open was held on March 6^th and 7^th at the Quality Inn on South Western. Considering the recent scheduling issues, the turnout was respectable, if modest, with 25 chess players. Movses Movsisyan won the tournament impressively with a perfect score. Chuck Unruh, Sergey Gallant, Joe Veal, and Matt Miller tied for second at 3 ½ . Chuck took the Expert plaque on tiebreaks, while Joe received the A prize and Matt the B prize. Former OCB editor Alan Ball, Jason Poulson, and Bill Molton tied in C class, with Bill winning the plaque on tiebreaks. The prize for D and below went to young Jacob Berger, who turned in a fine performance.
