Oklahoma Icicle Quads

 

Quads are very popular in other parts of the country. So, the OCA decided to organize a Quad tournament on 8 January in Tulsa. The tournament indeed was easy to run and had a minimal rating spread in each of the 4-person quads. As is often the case at Quad events, the bottom 6 players were hand paired in a 3-round Swiss tournament, so everyone got to play. Unofficial ratings were used for a few of the players without published ratings, so that everyone had appropriate competition.

 

The Top Quad winner was Rafael Wesson with a perfect 3-0-0 score. The 2nd Quad produced a tie with 2-1-0 scores for Jeff Colbert and Charles Unruh. The 6-person Swiss also produced a 2-1-0 tie between Robert Swerer and Alan Buynak. Everyone seemed to have a good time and we will definitely be doing more Quads.
