The OCA Website
www.ochess.org
For the few remaining OCB readers
that haven’t yet visited the OCA website, here’s what you’ll find there.
First, it’s usually a good idea to
start with the What’s New page, linked from the top of
every page in the website. This is where we let you know about all of the new
information on the website.
Also, in the header of each page
you find a link to information about the next tournament that accepts OCA
memberships. Other important recent news may also be linked from this location.
The rest of the website is
navigated using the left side-bar fly-out menu or the footer menu of each page.
Information available in the website through these menus includes:
- The
home page summarizes what the OCA is
about and how to contact us.
- Lists
of OCA Members, Patrons and active
chess players; Oklahoma
chess clubs; Okies in the USCF Top 100 lists; and convenient membership
renewal information.
- Tournament
Schedule; Harold Ball’s most recent Tournament Clearinghouse; Results of
all Oklahoma open tournaments; Oklahoma Tournament Champions; and a list
of Oklahoma TDs
- Over
1100 interactive games of Oklahoma
chess players that you can easily play though on your computer screen.
Links to other sites with interactive high level games are also included.
- All
the latest OCA Governance information,
including: upcoming meetings; meeting minutes; OCA
Officer information; OCA
Bylaws both current and past with changes noted; and other important
governance related correspondence.
- All
issues of the OCB since October 2003, with much more information than in
the printed version.
- A link
to the OSCO website at www.okschess.org
with loads of information about scholastic chess.
- Links to many other chess websites of interest.
- A
convenient feedback form for suggestions and comments.
- Search
form allowing you to easily find things in the website, or if you prefer a
site map of the website with everything laid out in a single list.
Check out the OCA website
sometime soon, and visit often for up to the minute information about Oklahoma
chess.
See you there,
