Steve (Wharry) and Jim (Berry),

Please change the name of the tournament listed on your web site as the 59th Oklahoma Open/Jerry Spann Memorial.  Bill Goichberg, the Executive Director spoke to Jim Berry a while ago and he told him that the tournament can be called OCF Jerry Spann Open. You cannot use Heritage Event, Oklahoma Open or Jerry Spann Memorial as these names have been used by the state affiliate for many years and should not be used by OCF.

As you are aware the USCF States Committee determined that OCA is the recognized USCF state affiliate and by using the name that you have chosen for the tournament you may be confusing the members in Oklahoma.  You should list it as it appears in Chess Life and on the USCF website as the OCF/Jerry Spann Open.
