Oklahoma’s 2008 USCF Delegate Election 11 June 2008
Fellow USCF Members,
In the recent past, USCF has allowed each member sixteen years and older two votes each during the Delegates election. The candidate with the greatest number of votes would become the USCF State Delegate. With two votes, the second place finisher in the election becomes the Alternate USCF State Delegate. Unfortunately, USCF has only granted one vote per member this election.
The OCA has two candidates listed on the ballot through the normal course of State Chapter business. However, the OCA has been surprised by the entry of a third candidate for USCF State Delegate by petition. Normally, the State Chapter is responsible for submitting the candidate names for USCF State Delegate.
Since each eligible USCF member is afforded only one vote, both of us feel that splitting the ticket is not in the best interest of the OCA membership in the current election. Oklahoma can only have one USCF State Delegate.
We ask jointly for your USCF State Delegate vote in favor of Charles D. Unruh.
Jim Gray has graciously withdrawn his name from the election in the best interests of the OCA. So, please mark the ballot box besides Chuck's name. Then, fold and send the ballot according to the wraparound instructions in the June issue of Chess Life. Careful, the addressed outside label does not include postage to the election board.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Jim Gray
Chuck Unruh
