IT’S CHESS ELECTION TIME!!

In the June Chess Life you just received, you’ll find your official USCF Election ballot. Please take a few minutes to complete the ballot for all those offices you wish to vote on, and mail it today. If you don't receive Chess Life or a ballot does not arrive with your June issue, visit www.uschess.org/electionnotice.php for instructions to obtain a ballot before 15 June.

You’re able to make 2 selections for the Oklahoma USCF Delegate, with the second place nominee becoming Alternate Delegate. The Oklahoma Chess Association has nominated Oklahoma State Champion John Dunlap and OCA Secretary/Webmaster/OCB Editor Mike Swatek for the Oklahoma Delegate and Alternate positions. We do hope you’ll support them both with your vote today so that the Official USCF State Affiliate OCA can have an active and positive influence on USCF matters going forward.

Also, the Oklahoma Chess Association Annual Election will be held 27 June at 8am, the Sunday morning of the 59^th Annual Oklahoma Open State Championship at OU in Norman. To vote you must be a current OCA member by 14 June or play in the Oklahoma Open. All Policy Board positions will be up for election, and some bylaws improvements will also be voted on. 

We hope to see you at the 59^th Annual Oklahoma Open State Championship at the OU Student Union in Norman on 26-27 June. Be sure to call the Sooner Hotel at (888) 777-0477 or (405) 329-2270 for room reservations by 18 June to get the special chess tournament rate of $45. You can also register for a room on-line at www.housing.ou.edu/soonerhotel using Chess Tournament as the group name.
